Miaka gets thrown into a cell and is told to be quiet, to which she replied, 'You've got to be kidding!' and yells: 'Tamahome! Tamahome! Tamahome!' really fast and about a hundred times. (hahaha) :) Just when she's about to feel defeated, Tama-Neko (Mitsukake's cat) comes and using him to distract the guard, Miaka and the cat escape together.
Yui is informed of Miaka's escape and hatches a plan to capture her. She sets forth a delicious meal, knowing Miaka's weakness for food, and Miaka falls prey to her temptations and is trapped by Yui in the dining room. Yui then accuses Miaka of having come back only for Tamahome. Miaka admits that Tamahome was partially the reason she came back, but that even if there had been nothing between her and Tamahome, she would have still come back because 'I am Hongo Yui'd best friend'. Yui, though, replies that it is too late, and that unless the scars on her wrists disappear, she won't forgive Miaka and won't give Tamahome back.
Yui gets up to leave but Miaka tried to hold onto her best friend and to find out where Tamahome is, but Yui swings he rback with force and knocks her into the wall. At that moment, the door opens, and in walks none other than Tamahome, but he is dressed very differently.....Miaka sees him, and in slow motion, runs and embraces him.....no response from Tamahome...
Miaka: Tamahome!
Tamahome: Miaka.
(Miaka hugs him warmly yelling his name)
Miaka: I've missed you so much!
Tamahome reaches for this weapon that has two handles and can be swung around and deal fierce blows. He grabs her shoulder and pushes her down. At the moment he grabs her shoulder, Miaka realizes something is wrong, and her eyes widen as she can only watch herself fall to the ground, and Tamahome's weapon swing down with brutal force upon her left arm.
Evil Tamahome: Miaka....I've wanted to see you too.
Miaka's blood splatters everywhere, and down falls the music box that Tamahome had first played when he told Miaka he loved her, back on that stormy night they came to first save Yui. That same loving tune plays ironically.
Miaka: Tamahome...? (she looks so shocked and hurt)
Evil Tamahome: You've no business calling my name without the 'san'. You're disgusting
Miaka collapses against a wall...'I can't believe this', she murmers. *Flashback to a warm, loving friendly Tamahome who said 'Miaka, we'll be able to see eachother soon.'* The music box stops playing.
Evil Tamahome: I'll fix it so you can't talk like that anymore. (he swinsg his weapon dangerously again)
Miaka: All this has to be a lie. (a single tear falls from her eye) *Flashback to Tamahome looking at Miaka tenderly and saying 'I love you'.* Miaka then screams: 'It's not true!'
Evil Tamahome swings his weapon with great force and it strikes just to the right of Miaka's head, crashing into the wall that it stays stuck there, but loosens the right hair ribbon on Miaka's head. She slides onto the floor in shock.
Evil Tamahome: 'Shit! Missed!'
For a man, as skilled as Tamahome, to miss hitting Miaka's head, this says something about the love Tamahome as for Miaka. The commentator who narrated the FY series on the video states that 'Deep within Tamahome's heart, the memory of Miaka existed and could not be erased by Nakago's magic'. My personal opinion is that try as Evil Tamahome might, the part of Tamahome that was truly him would never allow him to kill Miaka - his love for her was too deep, and that somehow, the part of him that had been taken away by the drug was struggling to prevent the evil Tamahome from killing Miaka, and thus, evil Tamahome missed.
Miaka is taken away by the guards screaming at Tamahome, 'Why?! Why?!' and leaves a shocked Yui behind. Yui looks at Tamahome and asks him if he remember who Miaka is to him. He replies that Miaka is the enemy. Yui just looks at him and asks, alarmed, 'How could you?' Previously, as Miaka, was eating the meal with Yui, we had seen a discussion about Yui between Chichiri and Tasuki. Chichiri, wisely, states that Yui would never allow Miaka to be killed. We all know that, though Yui has allowed hate and anger to well up inside her, she still does deeply love Miaka.
Before Evil Tamahome leaves the room, he pulls his weapon from the wall, and notices Miaka's hair ribbon that has fallen to the floor. A picture of Miaka's shocked and hurt face comes to his mind, and he tucks the ribbon into the belt of his clothing.
Miaka, now, is being led away by the guards and is struggling to get away, but one of them clamps his hads around her injured arm and she screams in pain. She thinks of Evil Tamahome and what could have happened to him. 'This is not Tamahome's way - it's not like him to hurt me' *Flashback to Miaka and Tamahome kissing eachother through the mirror and his promise to wait for her*
Suddenly, NAKAGO shows up and says he shall take Miaka away and says he prefers to have her killed in public since she's Suzaku No Miko. He then brings Miaka to a bound and gagged Tasuki and Chichiri. Miaka runs to them, but Nakago says to wait and points a blue chi charged finger at her. Miaka thinks that she will surely die this time, and braces herself. Then, Nakago pats her on the head and he says 'Just kidding'
Miaka: Kidding?! (she easily figures it out) Chichiri!
'Nakago' turns out to be Chichiri in disguise.

*short note on Miaka and her intelligence - many think she is a ditz and
is very stupid - on the
contrary, she figured out
(1) Yui was probably Seiryuu No Miko,
(2) hers and Yui's uniforms connected them,
(3) told ppl Tamahome was a trafficer to get him to help her,
(4) reasons out how she could possibly fight the street toughs,
(5) tells Hotohori you can't change people's minds with orders (which eventually hits home with Hotohori - to come),
(6) figures out that to get rid of the evil Miaka she must kill herself as the evil form is the hidden part of her own self.
(7) thinks carefully about other people's lives in danger because of her, and instead risks her life instead of theirs,
(8) When the bats attack her (when they find last seishi 'Chiriko', she reasons that she must run away from the house so the bats don't attack the others and esp. not Tamahome's family.
Miaka may do some pretty stupid things, but none of us is perfect and we all do idiotic things from time to time, Miaka as a shojou anime heroine, more than us. But she is not an idiot. *end short note*
Nakago later tells Tamahome that since her is Suzaku's man, he is still an
enemy to Seiryuu and as such, must prove himself and so, must get rid of
Miaka, Tasuki and Chichiri. Yui hears this and reflects on the fact that
the old Tamahome had hated Nakago's guts, but this one was more than
willing to obey Nakago's every order.
Meanwhile, Chichiri and Tasuki realize Miaka's arm is broken and wonder
who could have done this to her, but Miaka does not wish to say it is
Tamahome. She figures out that is may be Nakago's magic that is the cause
of Tamahome's new behavior. (see? she's no idiot) As she pulls napkins out
of her pocket to wipe her wound, the 'I love you' letter Tamahome wrote
her that night before he left, slips to the floor and she stares at it.
*Flashback to Tamahome saying he'll come back for sure* Miaka decides she
needs to try one last time to get Tamahome to be normal and the letter
mught do the trick. She leaves Tasuki tied up and runs to the tree - the
original meeting place between her and Tamahome.
Chichiri, though, has been walking as Nakago and is spotted by the REAL
Nakago and Yui and is chased. He finds Tasuki, unties him, and both head
towards the meeting spot (the tree) to find Miaka. Nakago, also, has
figured out Miaka has gone to the tree.
Miaka is now waiting under the tree and is thinking in her head a
conversation to Tamahome: 'All's clear...no soldiers. I'm under the tree
as promised. You said you'd meet me here, didn't you? Please Tamahome,
come out.' Miaka then falls to the ground sobbing as she remembers him
calling her dusgusting. But then, 'Tamahome' arrives and hugs her from
behind and says he's sorry.
Miaka: Tamahome?!
Evil Tamahome: It hurt having me treat you that way. At that time I had
to pretend to be on their side,
Miaka: Really? Is that true? You didn't forget me, did you?
Evil Tamahome: I remember. That's why I came here.
Miaka: Tamahome! *hugs him*
Evil Tamahome: While we're at it Miaka, Tasuki and Chichiri are with you
aren't they? Where are they?
*Miaka's eyes open in shock realizing this isn't Tamahome* The wind blows
fiercely as Miaka backs away from Evil Tamahome.
Miaka: You're not...you're not....You're NOT Tamahome! How would YOU know
that Tasuki is with us? You've never met him! (another instance of Miaka
using her brain)
Miaka: please Tamahome, if you're under a spell, pull yourself out of it.
(she takes out the I love you letter) Here, look at this. Tamahome wrote
this to me and I've kept it ever since. (Evil Tamahome takes it into his
hands) You said you'd come back for sure. 'I love you', you wrote that.
Evil Tamahome: I wrote this?
Miaka: Yes you did. Look...see for yourself.
Evil Tamahome grins as meanly and wickedly as he can, and tears the letter
into pieces, *flashback to Tamahome when his ogre sign flashed and he said
'Do you know what this character on my forehead means? It means protecting
you and living for you...*
Miaka: (thinking to herself) After finding all the seishi, after working
SO hard, I thought everything would go right. *flashback to Tamahome
telling Miaka to return to him and Konan after her trip home* But he's not
here anymore. The Tamahome I know...that Tamahome is no longer. HE'S NO
WHERE!!!!! (she screams and falls sobbing)
Evil Tamahome: (wields his deadly weapons high in the air and is about to
strike Miaka a fatal blow) DIE!
Tasuki jumps in and saves her, receving a blow to the side of his head on
Miaka's behalf. Miaka has fainted.
Evil Tamahome: Suzaku seishi. Now I won't have to hunt you down - I can
take you both out.
Chichiri: Tamahome! What are you doing?
Tasuki: The one who injured her (miaka) was YOU, wasn't it Tamahome?
Chichiri: Tasuki! Calm down!
Tasuki: Not only her arm! What you've done...she wanted to see you SO
badly...but you've BROKEN her heart...whatever your reason, you're on my
shit list!
Evil Tamahome: If I'm on your shit list, what're you gonna do about it?
Tasuki: Beat the crap out of you!
Nakago, who *KNEW* this would happen and had arranged it to be so (that
the Suzaku seishi would fight eachother) is watching this from above with
yui and comments: 'They're finally getting around to the fight. HMPH! What
imbeciles. The pill we made Tamahome swallow was no ordinary drug. It was
made from the deadly KODOKU.'
Yui: Kodoku?
Nakago: Are you familiar with curse magic Yui-sama? By using it, we can
control the memories of the Suzaku Seishi to make them despise the Suzaku
No Miko. We *CHANGED* Tamahome's personality. The Suzaku Seishi Mitsukake
has no power over it. *It's immpossible to cure* On Tamahome's forhead,
the character of the ogre will never appear again!
Chichiri is now pleading with Tasuki not to fight Tamahome, because
Tamahome is one of the Suzaku seishi and is a friend!
Tasuki: Shut the fuck up loud mouth. What friend does what he did? I'll
tear you to shreds! (to Evil Tamahome)
In Tamahome's mind, we can hear Nakago telling Tamahome to kill Suzaku's
people - KILL THEM!.
Tasuki and Tamahome then proceed to fight in a grueling match in which
Tasuki winds up taking quite a few hits and being badly bruised because he
puts his weapon away out of respect for Miaka's wishes. Chichiri calls the
palace for help using Tama-Neko and they managa to all get back to the
palace. As they disappear, Miaka looks at Tamahome...
Miaka: No matter how loudly I yell 'I love you', it won't reach Tamahome
anymore...so...so...(she sobs hysterically) Good-bye...Good-bye...Tamahome
(she disappeats)
Nakago comments that they were almost so close but then he turns to
Tamahome and gasps, shocked. Tamahome is crying with rivers of tears but
has no idea why and how it happened by itself. Nakago thinks to himself:
'Odd. Feelings are stronger than Kodoku'.
Back in konan, Miaka sobbing tells Hotohori that she has big Tamahome
good-bye. Hotohori is amazed that Tamahome has changed and would at all
hurt Miaka. Mitsukake figures out that they must have forced some drug
onto Tamahome but that Mitsukake cannot do anything about it. He heals
Miaka's arm but comments later that he cannot heal her heart. Miaka covers
up her sadness and grief over these events from her seishi - or tries
to...
Miaka: what's with all of you? Why be so depressed? I'm just fine. There's
nothing I can do about Tamahome. I've given up. I'm absolutely great! (she
starts to laugh)
Hotohori: You don't have to pretend for us
Miaka: Who's pretending?
Hotohori: How can you be alright? You and Tamahome...
Miaka: (yelling) I;m fine! Leave me alone! Just leave me by myself!
Sometimes it's better to just be alone!
Meanwhile, back in Kutou, Yui is taking care of Evil Tamahome's bruises
and asks him 'You could have killed Tasuki and Chichiri, but not Miaka,
right?'
Evil Tamahome: What're you talking about?
Yui: Then what were those tears for? Because Miaka said good-bye to you,
isn't that it?
Evil Tamahome kisses her in response and assures her that he is hers, but
Yui thinks to herself: 'Tamahome is now mine, but this Tamahome is not...'
Suddenly, in Evil Tamahome's mind, an image of Miaka saying good-bye to
him comes, and he instantly gets up and moves away from Yui. Disturbed, he
says sorry to Yui and leaves to think alone. He holds Miaka's ribbon in
his hands and wonders why her face came to his mind and vows that he must
get rid of her as soon as possible.
Miaka, now, has been feeling bad that she yelled angrily at Hotohori, and
also feels bad she can't return to her world or call Suzaku, or get Yui
back. She has walked right to Tamahome's room, and sees his clothing. She
hugs his clothes and breathes deeply his smell....
Miaka: Tamahome's clothes...Tamahome's smell...I'm NOT alright. From the
first moment I saw him, I've never taken my eyes off of him. I've always
hung in there because Tamahome was with me. But...not anymore...(she sobs
onto his bed)
Some time later, Nuriko walks into Miaka's room with food but finds Miaka
missing and a note saying good-bye which she takes to Hotohori. He
immediately runs in search of Miaka who is walking into the ocean and is
drowning. He saves her in a beautiful scene. Later, when she wakes up,
Hothori once again admits to her his love for her, and Miaka begins to
seriously think whether she can return love to Hotohori, and that perhaps,
in doing so, she can forget about Tamahome.
In Kutou, Nakago has told Tamahome to go kill Suzaku No Miko, and tells
Yui that is where Tamahome has gone. Yui yells at Nakago that he knew all
along this would happen and that Nakago had planned this and planned to
use Tamahome for that purpose from the beginning. Nagako tries to force
the blame onto Yui telling her that he did it all for her, to please her.
But she slaps him and will not have any of it, and asks him if he really
thinks she is pleased, and she storms off.
Evil Tamahome has now arrived in Konan, has knocked out the guards, and
the Seishi and Hotohori have all been notified of his arrival. Hotohori
has locked Miaka up but Tama-neko gets in and shows her a way out of the
room. She runs to save Tamahome as she learns that he and Hotohori are
fighting unto the death.
Evil Tamahome keeps hearing Nakago's voice in his mind telling him to
kill, and to especially kill the emperor Hotohori. On Tamahome's left ear
glints an earing similar to one Nakago wears. The rain is falling fiercely
and there is a blazing red glow around Hotohori as his will to protect
Miaka is so strong, it powers up his chi, making him more stronger than
Tamahome, who's will to kill and defeat is not *as* strong. They are
battling frantically when Miaka emerges and screams 'STOP'. At that
moment, Hotohori's sword plunges through Tamahome's chest, and Tamahome
falls to the ground. Miaka SCREAMS TAMAHOME and her scream can be heard
throughout Konan. She runs to Tamahome...
Miaka: No! Don't! Open your eyes! You can;t die! Don't die! Tamahome!!!
Hotohori drops his sword in shock and he and everyone else look on dazed
and unbelieveing at what has just taken place.
Evil Tamahome: Suzaku No Miko... (his hands creep to the sword)
Kill...Kill...I'll Kill You...(he murmers)
Miaka sees this and lifts the sword and clasps it firmly into Tamahome's
hands. 'Kill me. If it will make you like you used to be, then please,
kill me.' (she touches his face tenderly and gently) I'll be ok if you
kill me. So don't die. I love you Tamahome. I'll always love you. (she
kisses him)
Tamahome has had the sword poised over Miaka, and Nakago's voice flashes
through his head 'KILL HER!' he says, but as Miaka says all this, and
kisses him and hears her says 'I love you' Tamahome thinks:
Tamahome: This voice...this hair...these lips...(he suddenly remembers
Miaka saying 'It's a promise Tamahome! I can really see you for a change.
When the moon is straight up, wait there) Tamahome then lets the sword
fall to the ground and the red ogre sign BLAZES across his forehead once
more. The old Tamahome, our REAL Tamahome, is BACK!
Tamahome: Mia..ka...(he holds her face) What's this? You're crying?
Sorry...when the moon was straight up...we promised...but I was late..
Miaka: Uh uh...you made it...just now...it's straight up. I can finally
see you Tamahome.
Tamahome: Miaka (he holds her tightly and tenderly then gasps in pain. The
earring falls from his left ear.) Hotohori! (he smiles up at the emperor)
Hotohori: (smiling warmly) Tamahome...welcome back. (he calls Mitsukake to
heal Tamahome)
All sit there in the rain, embracing Tamahome
