The creation and work on Miakaandtamahome.com has brought me great joy and satisfaction. The greatest joy is when a visitor who has never before heard of Fushigi Yuugi writes and tells me that my anime synopsis made them fall in love with the series. Knowing that someone was that moved to love the series by the hard work I put into this site makes all the hours and months well worth it. So many people have written to me in the past year telling me how happy they are that a site devoted to Miaka and Tamahome's love exists when it seems like everyone wants Miaka to be with someone else. I used to also get upset about that, but have since realized that who others believe Miaka should be with isn't important - what is important is that Miaka made her decision - she chose Tamahome and loved him so dearly, that she was ready sacrifice her life for him. He is the only one she ever wanted, and in the end, they are happy together, and no one wishes them ill. They do get married and have a child and nothing anyone says or wishes can change that beautiful fact. Their happy ending is the result of survival of great tragedies, deceptions, mind manipulations, and attempts even by friends and the heavens themselves to keep them apart. Throughout all these vicious tests, they defiantly stand their ground, battling to keep their love against all obstacles, against all the nay-sayers, against everyone who wishes them ill, and that is what this shrine seeks to do. This is the place fans can come to read their love story, what they said exactly from the anime episodes. This is the place to worship and honour our couple and to keep their love alive against all those who STILL wish to separate them.
