 Here is a quick summary of some of the best most important and meaningful moments in all 52 episodes of Fushigi Yuugi where Miaka and Tamahome's romance devloped. There will be typos throughout this so ignore them when you come across them for now. |

The best stuff starts to happen when Miaka begins looking for Yui and
enlists Tamahome's help. After nearly getting killed for chasing the
emperor, Miaka is saved by Tamahome and Miaka looks at him tearfully
and says she has no reward for him, but he tells her not worry, that he'll
take his reward now, and he kisses her.
Next is when they're both at Hotohori's palace and Miaka has been depressed. Tamahome hugs her and tells her that if she needs to cry, when she feels like, to cry hard. And he tells her he'll be her brother 'without charge' ;) To this Miaka responds by hugging him and thinking to herself how safe and warm she feels. The next moment we see that Miaka has begun to really care greatly for Tamahome is when he is saving her from the crush of the boulders on top of them. He is right on top of her and Miaka blushes and thinks about how much he is going throgh just to protect HER. After this Miaka gets VERY jealous of all the time Nuriko greedily takes with Tamahome and finally when she gets some alone time with him, the sun is setting and she has a hurt ankle from the accident with the boulder. Tamahome looks at her tenderly and begins to fix her ankle and rebandage it. Miaka tells Tamahome in a thunderstorm she loves him. |

Later after Tamahome has been confronted with the fact that miaka loves
him, and he has no clue how to answer but to tell her he doesn't feel the
same, Miaka comes down with an illness and he and Nuriko and Miaka head to
a lake that supposedly cures illnesses. It;s just a rouge on Nuriko's part
to get Miaka and tamahome to be in love. Nuriko tells Tamahome that miaka
is waiting by the lake for him and Tamahome goes grumbling, "well I'll go
but not because Miaka asked me to" hahaha but then why ELSE is he going in
the middle of the night when he was actually sleeping before Nuriko told
him ;) At this lake, Miaka and Tamahome both yell out SORRY for any hurt
feelinsg they may have caused the other. And Tamahome explains that he
just didn't know how to respond to her but he does care for her.
After Miaka gets cured of the evil Miaka/mirror thing, the first thing she does when she wakes up is touch Tamahome's face and squish it around and smile at him :) Next significant moment, Miaka is in the real world and while trying to study she doodles Tamahome and starts to see his face and she realizes ow much she wants to be with him. It's at that moment she decides to go back into the book to find him and to get Yui back |

Back in the book Miaka learns that Tamahome was like a zombie waiting for her to come back, he was chewing playes and staring dumbly about. Nuriko tells Miaka that she is Tamahome's love, and Miaka says how can that be? And Nuriko tells her that at the time, Tamahome didn't realize it but he really does love her. Nuriko and Miaka decide to go to Tamahome's village and they find Tamahome in the middle of the forest. Once Miaka and Tamahome recognize each other, Tamahome touches her face and whispers her name and she whispers his and then they hug each other SO tight and hard. Miaka meets Tamahome's family and is all excited because she feels like she is Tamahome's bride and thinks happily about being his wife especially now that he knows he loves her too. When Miaka runs into a tiger (lion?) in the woods Tamahome shows up and rescues her and asks her why she ran away. Miaka doesn;t want the Seishi putting themselves in danger for her but Tamahome tells her that he has to be with her. That while she was gone he wanted to see her so badly and that for the first time he was aware of his feelings and couldn't focus with her gone. |

Later, Miaka goes into Kutou (enemy territory) to find Yui, and tamahome
chases after her and while alone in a closed room, Tamahome tells her that
he is in love with her and has this beautiful music box playing. They kiss
each other for a really long time.
Next great M&T moment, when Miaka is trapped in the Seiryuu mausolem being beaten up by nakago and Yui Tamahome comes blazing through battling the Seiryuu energy force which keeps him, a Suzaku warrior, away and that is truly amazing because only a Seiryuu seishi can come into the mausolem, but his love and need toprotect Miaka give him superhuman strength. Later back at Hotohori's palace, Miaka has decided she must give Tamahome up because she learned that yui is in love with him and she tries to tell Tamahome this but Tamahome won't have any of it. He tells her that he loves HER and that he lives for her and wants to be with her always and Miaka hugs him tight and says that she loves him so much. Right before this was the battle of wills between Tamahome and Hotohori and Tamahome stood up to the emperor not denying his love for Miaka. |

Tamahome has been taken hostage by Kutou and is being tortured and
whipped. Tamahome is defiant and strong about his love for Miaka and even
though nakago keeps whipping him and yelling at him 'will you ever speak
Suzaku No Miko's name again?' Tamahome takes the whipping and eventually
falls unconsious, his last word being 'Miaka'
Chichiri has arranged for a way for Miaka and Tamahome to talk to each other and Miaka gets all happy and dressed up and they speak through a mirror and both are so happy and loving. They even kiss through he mirror and promise to make a date to meet at the full moon so that they can free him from Kutou. At this point, Tamahome is drugged by Yui and the drug changes tamahome's personality so that he is evil. But we see that his love for Miaka is still there when he begins to cry in rivers when Miaka says good bye to him....he only escapes this evil spell when Hotohori has pierced him with a sword and Miaka has thrown herself onto him and tells him that if he wants to kill her go ahead, but Tamahome can't and the evil drug loses its effect and he is back to normal tamahome who loves Miaka and can't remember what happened while he was drugged evil. Later they talk about things, about what happened while he was along, some part of him inside had kept on loving Miaka. (True love never dies) |

Next morning, Tamahome is counting his money and Miaka races in to make
sure he is still there and he laughs at her and smiles knowingly :) Later,
Miaka is getting ready for the calling suzaku ceremony when Tamahome shows
up and gives her a ribbon that she always wore in her hair. It had fallen
when evil drugged Tama had attacked Miaka. Evil Tama, even in that evil
drugged state and controlled by Nakago, had still kept the ribbon
wondering why he felt such a connection with the girl. Now he return it to
Miaka and Miaka thinks to herself how much she loves Tamahome and that all
along, some part of him inside had kept on loving Miaka. (True love never
dies)
Next best M&T moment, when tamahome asks to Miaka to marry him and tells her how he has money saved up and how he'd like kids one day and he gets all quiet and shy and nervous IT IS SOOO CUTE! :) Tamahome is crushed though when Miaka refuses to marry him because Taiisikun has told Miaka that in order to call Suzaku she must stay away from Tamahome and not be involved because it will lead to sex and she must be a virgin. But later at the star watching festival Tamahome confronts Miaka asking her why she wouldn;t marry him and Miaka tells her the truth, And Tamahome tells her that after this is all over, with Suzaku and everything if they could get married then and Miaka happily agrees and Tamahome yelps with pure joy and happiness and tells Miaka he will make her the happiest bride! :) |

Later amidst the tragedy that befalls Tamahome, he tells Miaka that until
then he always lived his life for his family but he swore at his father's
grave that from now on, his life would be lived for Miaka to protect her
as his suzaku character on his forehead dictates but also because he loves
her so very much.
Miaka and Tamahome are on a boat and Miaka has brought him a meal but Tamahome is sleeping so Miaka goes and sits next to him and tamahome unconsciously reaches up and pulls her to him and both wind up sleeping next to each other and Miaka is all happy :) Later on land, Tamahome has just saved a little boy from a runaway horse and Miaka comments that all kids love him and this leads to a touchng talk between the two where Tamahome once agains mentions the fact that he loves her and both talk about being with each other when calling Suzaku is over and Miaka decides then and there that she wants to be with tamahome for ever. As they embrace, Miaka says she will not return to the real world shinzaho and shehas just been encased in ice and her power breaks it. Once she is free, Tamahome hugs Miaka and tells her that Miaka does something everytime to shorten his life. Miaka gasps out Tamahome's name and asks him where his hands are. They are tighly squeezed around her breasts! She punches him. 'Shit! It was an accident!' Tamahome yells ;) hahaha :) |

Next great M&T moment, Miaka has just suffered a "rape" by Nakago and
Miaka is scrubbing herself at a lake with tamahome and tells Tamahome that
she can;t marry him now because she is note pure. Tamahome can't believe
this and tells her to show him her body. He looks at her naked form and
tells her she is beautiful, nothing wrong with her, just as pure
andbeautiful as at the cleansing ceremony. he hugs her and tells her he
will always be with her because he loves her, and the fact that she may
have been raped doesn;t mean anything because he LOVES her.
Privotal moment, Miaka has run away from Tamahome because she doesn't feel she's good enough for him. tamahome stays up the whole night searching for her but Miaka has fallen off a cliff and hurt herself and is being taken care of by Amiboshi. Tamahome meanwhile is being seduiced by Soi through one of Tomo's illusions making her look and appear in every way like Tamahome and they decide to make love but Tamahome says no and tells her that after Suzaku he will do it right. This breaks the illusion and Tomo angrils spears Tamahome. Miaka shows up and sees that Tamahome is dying and watches as Tamahome gets thrown off a cliff to his death, She screams. |

Miaka is now taken captive by Tomo's illusion but even in this illusion,
the love for tamahome breaks through and as Tomo is finally defeated,
Miaka anymore because the Suzaku No Miko is doomed to return to her world
after calling Suzaku and that there will never be any hope of them being
together. Tamahome then breaks up with Miaka and is majorly depressed but
tries to be strong but miaka won't give up. She tells him to meet her at
the top of the tower at this fortress because if a couple kisses there,
they will be together forever. Tamahome shows up but not in time, Miaka
has been taken captive by Nakago.
Tamahome and the Suxaku Seishi show up in time to save Miaka and he aplogizes to her, telling he rhe is sorry for breaking up with her because he just couldn't take the fact that they woudl be seperated after everything they had been through because the Miko had to return to the real world. He then hugs her and tells her hat even if they aren't at the tower, and even if is is past sunset, he doesn't care, he pulls he rin for a great big kiss and tells her that no matter what, if there's something that can change their destiny, he will do it so he can be with her. Suzaku Seishi are fighting the Kutou warriors who are ready to strom Hotohori's palace. Yui casts a wish to separate Miaka and Tamahome and sends Miaka back home but Tamahome sees this happen and refuses to let Miaka go and grabs onto her. Miaka reappers in the real world and cries out in anger and sorrow but then looks and sees that Tamahome is there. Somehow, he had managed to cross over into the real world by holding onto her and was now really with her. All tamahome tells Miaka is that he promised to be with her, and he'll make it come true. Back at Miaka's house as she takes care of Tamahome, she enjoys how he is so excited by the modern world things and she and her brother, Keisuke take him into town and he is like a cute lil excited boy seeing things for the first time :) |

Tamahome is battling Suboshi who has crossed over into the real world and
is trying to kill Miaka and Tamahome. Tamahome saves Miaka and kills
Suboshi with the help of the souls of his departed family.
Next day, Tamahome is resting and wakes to see keisuke who asks him to leave and let Miaka go back to being a normal girl. He tells tamahome that he can't be a real man here, that things are getting crazy, he has to do the right hing and break up with Miaka. Tamahome faces the hard facts and decides to do what is best for Miaka and writes her a letter. Miaka runs home to find Tamahome ready to leave and cries out but Tamahome tells her that there must be a real HIM of here, in her world and that is who she should be with, not a ficticious character from a book, but a REAL Tamahome. She cries out in anger and pain adn Tamahome's eyes water and he grabs and hugs her and he then asks her to marry him. |

They hold a private wedding where they exchange rings and embrace each
other and both are now husband and wife.
Miaka has called Suzaku and she an Tamahome have decided that the last wish should be to restore the Earth to normal. They have dcided NOT to ask Suzaku to grant them to be together cause it is selfish and they cannot ask him to do that. Suddenly all the seishi begin to go and it is Tamahome's turn. Each Seishi tells Miaka and Tamahome to be happy, and Miaka hugs onto Tamahome very tightly but Tamahome begins to fade away, Miaka shakes her head, tears flying everywhere, and is now on the ground, with the book in front of her. She says it was the most beautiful book she had ever read. That night Miaka reads the letter Tamahome had left for her and in it he tells her that somehow they will find a way to be together. Later that year (6 months later) Miaka has passed high school entrance exams and is walking with her brother, his friend tetsuya and Yui (who is dating Tetsuya) and they tell her of a new transfer student who says in a past life he was one fo 7 warriors who were born to protect a girl and he has been searching for this girl. They look up and Miaka gasps. Standing in frotn of themis Tamahome, reincarnated as Taka and he holds up a ring in his ring finger and tells Miaka 'Finally, I found you'
