After Taka chokes down the breakfast Miaka cooks, he warns her one last time not to do anything involving the scroll without him, and to watch out for monsters while she's at it.

At school that day, Miaka's teacher introduces a new student, named Shigyou Ren. (Ren being his given name.) All the girls in the room decide he is really good looking, (he *is*, buy the manga!). He says hello to Miaka before anyone else, but she is quickly pushed out of the way by her friends as they rush to meet the charismatic new student.

Yui comes in the classroom because she remembers Miaka asking her about the "majin" (devil) the other day. Yui remembers Nakago worshipping a strange being with glowing eyes, and Miaka remembers Chichiri saying that Nakago worshiped the majin. As she wonders silently about the connection, Shigyou Ren watches her intently from across the room.

At KU, Taka runs into Keisuke, (who wants to borrow money: "So where was my sister last night?") and while they talk, Taka sees a beast come out of the floor, but Keisuke is blind to the illusion. Taka leaves, running full speed to the high school.

Meanwhile, in class, Ren is concerned b/c Miaka looks ill, and offers to take her to the school nurse. She goes to the nurse by herself, and opens the scroll while there, red ligt appears. Taka is jogging by the window, and he does a Jackie Chan-like jump through the window into the red light, and they both end up landing on Tasuki. Tasuki yells at Taka for landing on him, and Taka yells at Miaka for going into the scroll by herself, and Miaka screams at both of them that she has to find the stones, so are they gonna help her, or not?! She calls Chichiri, and he comes, and brings them all to Mt. Taikyoku, where he left his memory stone.

There, they see Taiitsukun, who produces a shiny white stone and gives it to Miaka. Suddenly, they are reunited with some old friends . . .all the other seishi who have died, are hanging around Mt. Taikyoku because an evil disturbance is keeping them from being reborn. Miaka explained what Suzaku had told her about the majin, but suddenly a huge black gooey wolf-head thing engulfs Miaka.

Episode 82.

This is pretty long and very complicated so if you don't understand the details of something I am trying to summarize, don't hesitate to just buy the manga, k?

Taka grabs Miaka's hand and together they disappear into a blackness. They land in a desolate place (we later learn this is Hell), and a man with long hair and dark robes stand before them. He introduces himself as Tenkou, and mentions that Nakago used to worship him, proving Miaka's theory.(author's note: I'm joining Nishi in using these summaries to, hopefully, prove that Miaka is a much more intelligent character then most people think. She's impulsive, that's true, but a wonderful problem solver. Ok. I'm done.)

Tenkou tells them he wants to become a God, in place of the Creator (Taiitsukun). He says the Suzaku seishi were always in his way, and he will do anything he can to destroy Taka's chances of finding all the stones, and so Taka will be destroyed, and so will the power of his and Miaka's love.

Meanwhile, Taiitsukun concentrates her powers to open the Gateway to Hell, and Nyan Nyan goes down there to get them back. Just as Tenkou is about to take the stone away from Taka, the Nyan-Nyan show up and Tenkou lets them take them back to Mt. Taikyoku, but as they leave he smiles and says: "You will not be happy. Ever." Back at Mt. Taikyoku the others comfort the two, (except for Tasuki who eagerly asked what the "majin" is like).

Taka wants to know about this whole him-being-destroyed-if-the-stones-aren't-found thing Tenkou was telling them about, and Taiitsukun explained that when he wished to be in the miko's world, there was no way he could go and take his memories with him. So his memories of Tamahome were left with each of the seishi, and if he doesn't get them, the core of his being will fade, but if he does, he gets to live and be a human in the miko's world.

Miaka gives him the stone and he gets some more memories back, (specifically that time he broke through the barrier at the Seiryuu temple to get Miaka away from Yui and Nakago), and also gets teased by Tasuki about going senile.

Miaka also tells the others that not only will Taka be destroyed if Tenkou succeeds, but all of the Suzaku seishi and even Suzaku himself. Taiitsukun tells the others that each of their stones are hidden in places with connections to them, and the others encourage their miko, and offer help in the Search For the Stones.

Miaka says their hour is up and she and Taka return to her school's infirmary. Taka has trouble digesting the fact that all his memories of his life as Sukunami Taka are just illusions created by Suzaku. Worried, Miaka asked if he regrets being born into her world, to which he replies that as long as he can be with her, he'll do anything. He's pretty confident that he won't be destroyed, and that they can defeat whatever this is together.

Just then, Miaka hears Ren calling her, "Yuuki-san, are you there?" And she panics and pushes Taka back out the window (they are first floor of the building, so don't worry^_^;;). Ren tells her that she needs rest, and sits by her as she falls asleep. While she sleeps, he leans down and licks her mouth. He smiles evilly and tells her they will destroy her love. The End of Fushigi Yuugi vol. 14!

FY Volume 15
Episode 83.

After waking up at the nurse's Miaka runs back to school to get her lunch, even though school is over. She runs into Ren, who inquires about her health while standing in the middle of a group of admiring students. Naomi, Miaka's classmate, is jealous of Ren's apparent interest in Miaka, and this makes Miaka notice how popular Ren has gotten, and how quickly.

At home, she sees the beast from before ("Tenkou's pet" she calls him) in her room looking at a photograph on her desk, but he disappears when she panics and throws the scroll at him. She goes to Taka's and tells him about it, she also hears his side of a phone conversation with his mother.

She remembers about Suzaku creating a new family, and how Taka isn't sad and alone like Tamahome was after he lost his family. Taka tells his mother about how he is fighting for someone he really cares about, and how he'll be fine. After he hangs up the phone, he falls asleep b/c of Miaka's cooking (?).

The next day Miaka wears a photograph around her neck, it's the one that Tenkou's pet was targeting, and she knows it's important. She's distracted from pondering, though, when Yui runs into her, and tells Miaka about her plans to run for Student Vice -President.

Suddenly, a teacher's voice interrupts the girls. It seems a younger student ran into the teacher and didn't apologize formally enough. Yui recognizes the younger student as relative of Tetsuya's named Kuwahara. Just as he's about get hit by the teacher, Ren steps in and stands up to the teacher, much to the support of the students. Ren gets upperclassmen admirers as well and Yui notes her competition for Vice- President is pretty tough, but Miaka's busy thinking about the first time Tamahome protected her, and feels sad that their memories don't match up.

Miaka waits for a classmate behind the school, she hears Kuwahara try to talk Ren into joining the kendo club. She notes those two together give her a suspicious feeling, but can't dwell on it b/c she is suddenly grabbed from behind (yeah, ok, it's just Taka, but we had really suspenseful moment for half a page here). It turns out that Taka got a job as the coach for the kendo club which Kuwahara just started, and he embarrasses Miaka by making such a big deal over how much he is being paid. He says now he can hang out at her school, and take her home etc.

After the school clubs are over, Miaka waits in the gym and sees Kuwahara there waiting for her. He attacks her, tackling her to the floor and ripping her shirt open, but that's when Taka enters and Kuwahara attacks him and runs, leaving Taka with a bleeding arm. Miaka's shocked when she notices the photograph of all the seishi, the one she brought to school with her, now has changed to show just Hotohori. But then she notices Taka's injury and gets hysterical, and he comforts her.

Meanwhile, a tall man with glasses walks down the school hallway, stopping in horror as he sees a huge beast-like monster lunge at him.
